I'm recording a user request, and putting it up for discussion. Are publications using Å or have they mostly switched to nm?
I had a similar reaction @RichardHeenan :-) It is however unclear to me what this is asking exactly. We are addressing the issue of wanting plots to be in different units and for data which does not indicate units, giving the user the ability to change the units of the data being read in sascalc and qtgui. Since this ticket is in sasmodels, I guess here we are talking about the model parameters only? If so, while there is a real mix of nm and A these days when it comes to particle dimensions, with the use of nm increasing I think, sld for neutrons at least are still mostly given in A^-2 I believe and would thus cause some consternation if in nm^-2? And I'm not sure mixing nm for particle dimensions and A (or A^-1,-2 etc) would be a good idea either.
Agreed that, a broader discussion may be warranted. We could add this to a list of discussion items for the next real code camp?
Brian pops in the room and whispers "...meters for everything...". Brian slinks away into a dark corner again.
Hope you are not serious .... Possibly if it were an optional setting, but would be tricky to implement in both data and fits.
