Health Equity Tracker is a free-to-use data visualization platform that is enabling new insights into the impact of COVID-19 and other social and political determinants of health on historically underrepresented groups in the United States.
Currently, we have some cards that don't have data across all topics/regions, and we display those cards with a message like "data unavailable" or similar. this takes up a LOT of vertical space and makes it less likely a user will travel all the way down the page.
Proposed solution:
Map card (always show, with full region single rate as needed if lower level data unavailable)
Rates over time (hide if no time series data available)
Rate chart (always show)
Unknowns map (hide if all demographic data is known, like most survey based data)
Stacked bar chart (hide when share / pop share data unavailable)
Inequities over time (hide when unavailable)
Table (always show)
Age-adjusted table (already hidden when unavailable)
