Possible applications - Mail from Antony

The German petrol price data is discussed in this recent blog entry and you might be able to put together a dataset to analyse from the information given https://www.statworx.com/de/blog/6-myths-about-refuelling-tackled-with-statistics/

For an example of the Amanda Cox interactive time series displays for the NY Times see slide 10 of https://www.slideshare.net/openjournalism/amanda-cox-visualizing-data-at-the-new-york-times

There are also these https://dash-gallery.plotly.host/dash-recession-report/ https://www.climatesignals.org/resources/interactive-chart-how-much-warmer-was-your-city-2015 https://getdolphins.com/blog/interactive-data-visualizations-new-york-times/ (nos 12 and 28)

There are two R packages, bikedata (for 11 cities, mainly North American) and bysykkel (for Norwegian cities). You might have to do a bit of work to get the data into the form you want. You could look at the time series of trips between various start and end points. There is a dataset in the UCI Machine Learning Repository called Bike Sharing Dataset (https://archive.ics.uci.edu/ml/datasets/Bike+Sharing+Dataset), which just looks at the total number of trips per hour in Washington DC over two years. It includes weather data as well.
