fixes not blocking input when inputing text

type "luminite" before and after the fix to note the difference. for some reason my editor goes crazy over the line endings so sorry if i messed up something, when i was compiling there were dozens of warnings i recommend using the cli and suppressing them if they are spurious

Looks fine, line endings should be resolved on pull, @steviegt6 may need to double check the config for this though?
