Video Recording #40

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Again, either I am too dumb or there is something fishy.

I want to start recording a video.
1. Open the application, click on Host Mode -> no REC button is shown
2. Click on LV -> REC mode is shown, it is white
3. Click on REC but nothing does happen

REC button is only shown while you are in live view as the recording can be
only started in live view. Check if your camera is in live view movie mode.

Do I have to change the LV type on the camera? Not sure if that makes sense. At
the moment I have LV movie mode selected at the camera and now I can REC and
take pictures. Can't the app switch to that camera mode when the REC button is
hit??

Will check that, but you can change the live view mode from the application.
While in LV hit the small LV button in right bottom corner and you will have
the LV properties on the right. There you can change the LV mode.

If you have "Review RAW image after capture" enabled, it downloads the .MOV
file and crashes.

Wow - thanks :-).
I'm blown away by the app - I keep finding features I didn't know my D600 had !

Ooh ... just a thought ...
would it be possible to make the REC button change Lv mode first ?
I guess the 'Shoot stills' button could change it back again.

Aspect ratio changes might re-frame the shot - slightly awkward.
Not sure if a dialog/notification would make the action clearer.
Maybe a second click should be needed to take the shot ?

Or should the 'change mode' button replace the REC button when it is inactive ?

I know Nikon let you shoot a still while video-ing, but it stops the video.
I doubt if the app will overcome the limitation. Expeed I guess.
