ErrDisp Screen

I have had an ongoing issue that has appeared randomly a few times when saving the game, but restarting the game would fix the issue and I could keep playing and saving. But now at episode 4 I cannot save at all or else an ErrDisp screen appears. and if I try to play without saving, it will reach a certain point in the trial after Ms. Garrideb's cross examination and the ErrDisp screen will appear and I have to reboot every time. I've reinstalled the patch, updated Luma, and formatted the SD card and nothing has worked.

And returning to previous episodes and trying to save causes the error to appear now when saving worked just fine previously.

Also tried some other ace attorney games and used the save function and it worked just fine.

Are you using a Game Card or a digital copy?

Sorry, weekend happened 😅 I'm not entirely sure what causes this problem for you, but we could check a few things:

• which firmware / Luma3DS version are you using?
• which settings did you choose in Luma3DS? (hold SELECT while turning on your 3DS)
• can you try a different SD card?
• did you encounter any problems while creating the patch CIA?
• there's a "frankenstein" version of our patch out there that allows showing the translated banner in the home menu. unfortunately its not well-made and causes some issues - just mentioning it in case this may apply here
• did you ever encounter a similar problem with any other game? you said other AA games were fine
• did loading a save game ever lead to a crash? in other words: are save games corrupted?

Oh, no problem, I really appreciate the help.

I have Luma 9.1-89cc6ed

For the settings I have these enabled Enable game patching Show NAND or user string in system settings Show GBA boot screen in patched AGB_FIRM

I do not have another SD card

The patch for the CIA went well with no problems

I actually didn't know there was a Frankenstein version of the patch, I got the patch off the main site, version 2.4.0

This is the first game to give me this issue

Loading saves doesn't crash the game, but saving does, and also I cannot delete the save data from the game card, or else I get the same Errdisp screen

I hope the issue can be found as well, I'm thoroughly enjoying the game, and my friend who does has not even played the ace attorney games wants to play this as well. Hopefully the issue can be resolved since there may be more people having this problem

I dumped the game onto my 3ds from the game cart and the game works just fine. The english patch is still applied and the game saves fine. Idk why, it may be something about the physical cartridge. I'll be playing it again and I'll let you know if the problem shows back up

Ok, I finished through the game. I must say, this definately became my favorite of the Ace Attorney series. Amazing work :D

Unfortunately. There's nothing I can do with the physical copy of the game aside from using it to dump the game onto my 3DS, it just won't work. I can't even delete the save file in game or with a save editor to try and start fresh and see if the problem comes back up. So, idk how the problem can be fixed.
