DuckieTV tray icon disappears, leaving the processes in Task Manager (not sure if DuckieTV is still running at that point) #1418

Describe the problem you are having and steps to reproduce if available DuckieTV tray icon disappears from the system tray randomly, without In Task Manager, the DuckieTV processes are still running. When I want to run the GUI, I need to run DuckieTV.exe again. I generally keep up to date with new releases, and this started happening with V202403151918.

Odd. I've not had any issues with this version on my win10 so far. Do you use an anti-malware app, have you checked its logs for any false hits on modules from the C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\DuckieTV-Standalone folder, or its quarantine vaults for files moved out of the same?

Nothing in my Kaspersky logs. I made all the tray icons visible all the time, and watched them. I use qBittorrent 4.6.4 and have set up DuckieTV to use qBittorrent's web api. What I observed was the qBittorrent icon disappearing right before the DuckieTV icon did. I repeated this a few times with the same results

I re-installed qBittorrent 4.64 (settings preserved) and started both apps. Both icons have remained in the system tray for hours now.

I still think there's a bug in DuckieTV, since I feel it should stay running even if the torrent client goes down, and reconnect to the web api when the torrent client comes back up.

Dtv would not have access to make the qBt tray icon disappear, it is only allowed to control it's own system tray. If what you have seen is that both qBt and Dtv system tray icons are vanishing then something else is going on.

The limitations of Dtv not being able to reconnect to qBt if qBt is shutdown and restarted are a consequence of the AngularJS code that Dtv uses and its original design which applies to all the torrent clients that Dtv connects to. And has been that way since Dtv was written by the author and I have not been able to improve on this. The author left the project back in 2017 and i just keep the lights on by trying to keep Dtv running. I don't have time or interest to rewrite Dtv to performs better or introduce new features.
