Lost activations and several apps not working on V12, 2.5gb ethernet not working, slow devices #210

Hi @SchmockLord, I just updated from v10 to v12 and now I'm having issues with certain applications not working. It's like some apps think my computer or OS is different and ask me for activation codes all over again. Some just won't open, and some say to delete and reinstall which does not work. This screenshot is what my iLok is now saying.

If it helps even the time machine started a huge backup as if it was new, I did update the bios from F6 to F21 which black screened and had to use q flash to fix.

Only other thing I've noticed is that 2.5gb ethernet port is not working Screen Shot 2022-03-13 at 4 08 01 PM

Then add it again to the bootargs and report the result here. I have a Gigabyte Board (Z590i) and don't need it anymore. But it seems the Vision D is special.

@AlaKru I have just updated the repo. Can you download the latest commit: https://github.com/SchmockLord/Hackintosh-Intel-i9-10900k-Gigabyte-Z490-Vision-D/commit/57a110741517ea2fab639c3b9a9869a68ec5d5f1

And tell me how it is working for you?

AlaKru commented 2 years ago

I just tried the repo. Did not work, I may go back to Big Sur and try it again. Thank you, I've spent a day and a half trying to fix it. Everything was working flawless on v8, and now even when I go back to v8 I'm having issues.

Found this, I have not tried it but hope it helps. AE565C91-8F57-44D9-A138-C846B49AD6AD

@AlaKru Can you please just test my newest commit? I am doing these changes because of issues like yours. And when I try to fix them, no one is there to test them and I have to release them untested. Which then brings up new issues.

AlaKru commented 2 years ago

I tried 57a1107 listed above. Did not work, had same issues in Monterey. I then erased and tried to go to a Big Sur backup which failed. I just seen you had a new commit 10 minutes ago. I will retest when I get my PC up and running again shortly. I’m considering just staying away from Monterey with all the complaints I’ve been seeing. And thank you again for the help. I feel like I spend more time trying to fix my system than actually getting to use it anymore lol.

Just to make sure I'm doing this right, I need to download the release version on the right(Updated 1 hour ago)? Or download the master from the code tab(Updated 2 hours ago?

SchmockLord commented 2 years ago

@alakru Now you can download the release. But before it was not released, only committed.

@SchmockLord I gave Monterey another go with the new release using SSDT-based USB-mapping. Boot times are definitely faster, external drives and thunderbolt devices mount faster, OS is much snappier! But i225 ethernet is still not working even though I have the rev2 NIC. Do you think I have to just stick with BIg Sur? I even tried to use e1000=0 along with dk.e1000=0.

@SchmockLord I restored from a backup using Big Sur, but in the time I was trying to get Monterey to work Big Sur had an update to 11.6.5 and I'm thinking whatever is keeping the ethernet from working in Monterey is now in Big Sur. When it stopped working and I went to SSDT-based USB-mapping its like some applications are missing and activations are missing. Have you had any of these issues? Could this be a bios issue? I'm using F21, Gigabyte z490 Vision D, Samsung 980 Pro nvme2, Fenvi, 10900k, 5700xt, I don't think my Display ports are working unless it's my new monitor, only HDMI. Which occasionally just displays white fuzz. I attempted to use the kext based usb map but which does not work either. Using the previous version along with the apple thunderbolt display everything was working flawless. update** DisplayPort is working and I gave up on ethernet, I gave it a good effort!

@AlaKru Do you have Windows on your machine as well? Is the 225V working there?

Check if ethernet is enabled in bios. And make your whole PC powerless for 30sec. This often cures the weirdest issues.

Once in a couple of months my 225V stops working too. But after I make do this it comes back to life.

AlaKru commented 2 years ago

Thank you, I do have windows installed also and the Ethernet does work there. I will try to power it off for a bit when I get home.

AlaKru commented 2 years ago

Powered off for a few minutes but it did not work. One thing I have noticed is that now in the network preferences it doesn't even list ethernet 2. And it's still missing in the system report>ethernet. I tried a few different device id's and still no luck.

I decided to give the 225v another go and got it working. Even though it was working in windows, and showing up at the bottom of the bios screen. I went into bios and clicked on it and it showed disconnected. I had to turn off the 219v to get 225v to work in macOS, and every time I turned 219v back on it would disconnect 225v. One was listed under Pci and the other onboard LAN, I did this days ago so I can't remember which was which. Hope this helps if you have issues IMG_5657 .
