Freezes Since v1.26.1 Update #386

Have been using this extension for a few months without any problems until the v1.26.1 update. Since then, I get frozen connections where I can no longer save files or open folders in the explorer bar.

The explorer bar shows a "connecting" spinner and the similar blue dash that traverses left-right just above the folder. It will stay like that indefinitely and the solution is to choose "remove folder from workspace" and reconnect via Configurations.

The frequency of this problem is variable - maybe once or twice a day or half a dozen times. Will try reverting back to v1.26.0 and see if that fixes it.

I have the same issue. Already had to go to v1.26.0 due to "All authentization methods failed" issue. But it didn't help with the saving freezes.

What has helped me with the freezes is to restart vscode once in a while. Or when the freezes start to become longer.

+1 Same issue started for me last week, reverted to 1.26.0 in the mean time.

+1, with 1.26.0 there are occasional reconnects after a while, but no freezes like with version 1.26.1.

+1 Same issue started for me last week, reverted to 1.26.0 in the mean time. But I noticed that the more files you save, the slower the backup becomes, until it freezes. Could be a redundancy issue?

For me, the behaviour here is that the Explorer gets a "working" bar under it and the processing badge, along with spinners on various folders in my project tree. When I first open the project, its quite responsive, but gets slower and slower as time goes on, eventually to the point where saving either takes a long time or just doesn't happen.

Also the open terminal (presumably it attaches to the sftp binary that runs on the server) also hangs when this happens.

At a quick glance, it looks like 1.26.1 may be causing a lot of stat syscalls traversing everything under the configured root folder which seems to eventually bog things down on larger projects... I haven't yet confirmed if 1.26.0 is also experiencing this issue, but vscode itself did update (I dont recall what version it was on), along with this extension, around the time i started having the issue

Same freezes, as @tsumaru720 mentioned before. When I'd been working on remote server for 30 minutes, It started to freezing more and more, before I stuck with infinite loading my folder. So, I started to save my files frequently, because the main solution for me just shut down my VSCode and the re-open it again :(

same shit

This problem has existed for over a month. Will there be an update for this problem or should I abandon this extension?

maxiweb-nouvelle-caledonie commented 11 months ago

It's fix with VScode version 1.80.0

tsumaru720 commented 11 months ago

This behaviour does seem less apparent in vscode 1.80.1 & sshfs v1.26.1 I'd need to do some more in-depth testing but I havent noticed any slowdowns for the last couple of days

punqbund commented 9 months ago

The problem still persists with VScodium 1.82.2
