I tried chasing Nick Everdell for parts recommendations. No luck yet.
Maybe @RonGaston wants an interesting Job? @Ron - do you want to read the article: https://www.instructables.com/id/High-speed-Clock-for-Slow-motion-Videos/
and see if you can work out which parts to buy to make the clock as suggested.
Thanks
Matt

Sorry for not replying sooner and keeping everyone updated. We’ve ordered a few parts already - they’re pretty cheap. I will give this a try and let you know how it goes.

What did you get?

We should have a SNAPPY meeting, Thurs, 15:00. @EddieEdwards - can you present? If its done, we can close this ticket!

This is done. @EddieEdwards - can you document where this timer is stored, and how to use it.
(ie. it should be - "just plug it in").
Then we can close ticket.

Ron has built a nice Arduino clock that works simply by plugging it in. He's putting another one together with an on/off switch. Here is a 240fps video (slowed down) from my iPhone. The iPhone averages some of the frames so perhaps the clock is actually updating faster - it's hard to tell.
Would be good to test it with a seriously fast camera sometime, but I think this is good enough for our purposes.
Thanks Ron!

Timer(s) is(are) kept in Ron's office in the basement of CBH. Will start timing when switched on and can be reset (and also has an on/off switch).
