Code linting. #1

A few changes have been made to make the code more 'Pythonic'. The linter used was pylint for Python 3. Please specify if the code is written for Python3 or Python2, the current changes are compatible with both the versions. The current score is 4.40 previous was 1.20. There are still flags raised by the linter but, I believe that the dev should look at it before any changes are made.
