Components can be IoT devices such as sensors, services would be the functions that are utilising the components.
An example would be a requirement to regulate room temperature. The components may be a room thermostat to read the temperature, a sensor / camera to identify if the room is occupied and a radiator control valve to adjust the temperature. The service would be the control plane which allows the user to see the temperature, set a target and automation control to monitor and modify the temperature based on occupancy and / or time.
