Paper Production #34

Logs could be ground up to make pulp, and then be pressed and dried for an alternative source of paper.

I like this idea...but the paper tech tree seems limited in vanilla MineCraft. One you have stacks and stacks of paper, where do you see it going?

Hadn't though of that. Well, I use books for Mystcraft, but I don't know what others might do with it. Maybe an aspiring author can write a bunch of novels with the upcoming writable books? Either way, just an idea.

@blargh555 Yup...I thought about Mystcraft, too. I think this might be an area worth exploring, but we just need a deeper tech tree...any ideas?

Maybe paper lanterns? Or fireworks? Filters? Printers? Although I don't know how filters would be used and correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure any of those fit in with the forestry theme.

I actually think paper lanterns would be nice, since we really don't have a good, block-sized illumination source that isn't butt-ugly like glowstone or pumpkins, and redstone lanterns require multiple items to use. And they could be hung from ropes made of bark! :D

^However if they're made of bark, then the paper making idea is bust (prolly bust anyways)

its a nice idea, but there is no much use for paper. its only needed for books and maps.

what we need is more use for paper. @blargh555 did a lot of nice suggestions. sails for boats/ships could be possible, too.
