Will you continue this? I am very interested in it, bu there are lots of bugs, including drawing bugs, and the paving tool really needs improvement.

Realistically, no. I'm not likely to get more free time soon, and newer projects would take that up. MATR would benefit most from a rewrite in another language/framework. Sorry for the bad news. Everything you've said is right.
