So I think there's this really interesting dynamic that comes about from the various different sources of power. And one thing that's interesting is how there's power from knowledge and power from the ability to exclude people/groups. once upon a time the power to certify was not widespread and was a bit more in line with knowledge compared to now. So now you have people turning certification into a business, where the source of the power is exclusionary in nature instead of knowledge based. This I think is expecially interesting in the context of the whole AI transformation, because the AI stuff is more about knowledge and is not subject to the exclusionary power dynamics in the same way that say hiring employees are An algorithm for example cannot be given a degree or a qualification in the same way in which a person can be so like this PMI thing seems to really strongly control who they interact with, which given they are the body that does the Professional Project Management certification isn't the most surprising thing. So in our current economic setup there's a lot of rewards given to scarcity, So in our current economic setup there's a lot of rewards given to scarcity, but knowledge wants to be free.

I don't think I want to call out PMI directly in the article since I haven't met enough people from there.
