The warning is "Invalid AutoProxy rules file!".
I did a little debug & found a problem: switchy assume the list must be stored
in
https server but not show this limitation. I think this limitation isn't very
necessary for autoproxy-compatible lists, because gfwlist already has a base64
encryption. And because most of us don't have commit right to that project, we
can
never use the secure URL.
After bypassed that, another warning appears: "Too small AutoProxy rules
file!",
after local debugging, I found the actual filename requiring is
"http://autoproxy-
gfwlist.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/gfwlist.txt?_=xxxxxxxxxxxx..."( x are all
numbers )
instead of the original URL we entered, & google code file server just returned
blank
text. Not sure how to remove the appended query string, I'm not a professional
web
developer:)

Where did you see these warnings,it give me no warning at all.

The error log. Maybe that's not a same bug, sometimes that warning appears &
sometimes
not( during several complete install/uninstall ). But the function never works.
I found that the ?_=xxx is a jquery feature, time stamp, for separating
different times
we fetch. Change the cache option to true can avoid it. But still not work for
me.

It seems that the list url "http://autoproxy-
gfwlist.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/gfwlist.txt" is blocked by your ISP.
Try to add a custom rule for it like this:
- URL Pattern: *://autoproxy-gfwlist.googlecode.com/*
- Pattern Type: RegExp
Does this solve the problem?

Issue 76 has been merged into this issue.

It works now, automatically. I didn't do anything. So the option does work, but
somehow
doesn't take effect immediately.

Confirmed works after takes custom rule for gfwlist site, thanks. I thought the
"proxy
profile" of the proxy list will automatically do the same thing, seems it
doesn't.

Switchy 1.6.3, Ubuntu 10.04, Chrome 10.0.648.151. No form of switch rules work
at all. Everything goes straight to direct, bypassing any and all rules. I
have to manually turn the proxy on and off which kind of defeats the main point
of wanting to use Switchy.

In one word, switchy is not as good as AutoProxy and so far it is not
compatible with the dynamic gfwlist.

Yes, with the 1.63, it can not work with gfwlist with auto mode. I have to turn
to fireFox.

Anyone who are looking for a replacement can head over to
http://code.google.com/p/switchysharp/, which build base on switchy.
So guys stop reporting bugs here unless the author came back.
