to obey the rulers even if they all cruel, wicked or corrupt not to speak evil of any man (speaking evil of someone who is corrupt is the easy thing to do) Paul is writing to Titus from prison and encouraging him to remind the church people not to speak evil of any man. Not to slander. The natural pride of man (because of our sinful nature) is to put others down Paul is writing, requesting Titus to remind people not to slander, not to speak evil of any man. In Christ we ought to be doing the opposite to speaking evil (we are to build one another up) As followers of Christ be should be meek and under control, living in gratitude. We should be meek and caring towards all people. Not stirring up trouble.
