Currently the only way to determine whether a pylon is active or not is by seeing the green "lever" next to it, whereas a red "lever" means it's inactive. This makes it very difficult to determine whether there are still other active pylons or not.
Adding a particle effect to the pylon that indicates it is active and working, and having a similar particle effect around the boss that shows it is being "strengthened" by the pylon would assist players in determining whether the pylons are active or not, as well as what they are used for.
