This would be even better than the "has it been a day" check for late-end: make it so the event window starts when the encryption page is loaded (or, optionally, scheduled for later), and ends at midnight on the same day (again, the window can be adjusted). Then, anybody attempting to use the exported database outside of the day it was generated for will be informed "This database should have been deleted".
It might make more sense to just have an expiration date, tbh: I'm not sure the "Event start time" accomplishes much beyond that.
