Regarding the Resource Database and map at http://www.accelerate77.net/map/view-the-map

1) Map with points for each initiative Map item data points:

• Initiative title
• Neighborhood (may include multiple)
• Address
• Web link to more info (offsite link to org's project page)
• Short description
• Category tags (one or more, open-ended taxonomy)

2) Filter/narrow map results by:

• Neighborhood
• Category

3) Add an initiative to the database: http://www.accelerate77.net/map/add-an-initiative Links to Google Form (iframed) with the items shown in the map detail (above)

Note on form indicates that data are migrated manually from Google Forms to the local database.

Potential differences with our project:

• Add organization as a data point and filter; this also provides a framework for organizational participation
• Specific street addresses for each item works well for items that are tied to a specific geographic point, but how would we handle initiatives that are distributed across an area or region?
• What level of geographic abstraction would we use? Neighborhoods are too granular; would city or county be a better level? If we extend this project outside of Washington, how would this change? Perhaps we would need multiple levels of geographic relationships (could filter by both state and locale, for instance)
• We would likely want to have a local copy of information products (hence, archive) rather than (or in addition to) a link to the organization's site. Need to explore provenance / integrity aspects of maintaining externally generated records, similar to Data Refuge and other initiatives.
