Entering entries can be vastly improved #12

The process of entering expenses is rather complicated right now.

  1. It should be the default action to enter an expense not income.
  2. Allow "," for the decimal point for the German app version
  3. Improve category selection to show the color as well
  4. ... probably more ..

The dialog for entering entries should probably be redesigned in the process as well. As the dialog was not really changed during the big update.

These points make sense, specially the first one.

If you switch from income to expense, the "-" is annoying, because you've to click behind it. Just grey it out , because their is no reason for the user to change it (if u have to toogle the right choice before)

The "-" is ok, only the cursor has to be by default behind the "-" if you choose expense. And as @Kamuno commented "It should be the default action to enter an expense not income."

When adding a transaction, maybe the last used category can be pre selected (if not in a category sub view). That would allow users to enter multiple transactions of the same source faster.

Preselection of the latest used category can be useful too. I believe the proposed points would be a great enhancement in comfort and usability. As i have no programming skills, I don't know how much time and effort it will take to realize this.

I think that - is useless if I add and expanse. It can be confusing since adding a negative expanse is basically like adding an income. It would be easier to just let people choose between expanse and income. As for the interface: I think that 1money,money and Expense Manager by Markus Hintersteiner has the best UI. It would be cool to use them as inspiration!

I believe to adding an expense as default is ok, because most people will at least to have a lot more expenses to add than incomes. But I could live too with the option first to choose income or expense and having no default.
