I'm having the same problem, but I downloaded the 64-bit version (for my 64-bit
computer, of course) and I'm running windows 7 home premium. Have no clue what
to do.

SOLVED:
Problem: As reported above.
Issue: Missed on installing python.

Steps to solution:
1. removed any install of pyscripter.
2. Installed python from "http://www.python.org/download/". I installed this:
http://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.3.2/python-3.3.2.amd64.msi
3. Installed 64 bit pyscripter.

And now I have it working as expected.

Thanks & Regards.
Fahad Rahmani.

comment #8's solution worked for me. I'm not sure if it was my python version
or what, but I uninstalled pyscripter, used the python download link in the
comment, downloaded that version, re-installed pyscripter, and it worked.
Thanks to Fahad Rahmani.

Hello

I'm now having the problem, after updating Python to version 3.4 32 bit. I did
not have the problem up to version 3.3.5 32 bit. I tried installing the 64 bit
versions of Python as well as Pyscripter, but it did not solve the problem.

My configuration is: Windows 8.1 (64 bit, Danish version), PyScripter 2.5.3 (32
bit), Python 3.4.0 (32 bit).

Installed Python 3.4 and then the latest version of Pyscripter. Getting this
issue again... Windows 7 64-bit, Pyscripter 2.5.3. Any suggestions?

Use PyCharm Community Edition. That is my best suggestion.

Please, let PyScripter start even if the Python Version installed is newer then
directly supported by PyScripter.
It will work, only new features will not be extra handled.

PyScripter 2.5.3.0 x64 did not work with Python 3.4 x64 on Win7 Pro.
Uninstalling 3.4 and installing
http://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.3.2/python-3.3.2.amd64.msi into the existing
3.4 directory got it to work. I made sure to install Python into the path.
Thanks Fahad Rahmani.

Hi, I ran into the same problem using Python 3.4 and Pyscripter 2.5.3. I then
uninstalled Python 3.4 and installed 3.3.5. After this, Pyscripter worked.

Two "solutions" seem to be offered: (a) retreat to Python 3.3 or (b) retreat
to 32 bit version.

There must be a better way.

Note:- If you already have Python 3.4, then just UNINSTALL it.

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL (X86 VERSION OF):-
Python 3.3.5 and Pyscipter 2.5

THIS WILL 100% WORK

The "python could not be initialized" error is still popping up with 2.5.3 32
bit. And Python 3.4.1 32 bit. If there is a compatible version issue them OK
but tell us what combo to use.

you need to download python as well as pyscripter. all pyscripter does is over
writes python to make it a more simple way of looking at python.
i had this problem then i downloaded python then it worked.

For Windows 7 64bits. 2014/12/21.

I had installed Python "python-3.4.2.amd64" and "PyScripter-v2.5.3-x64-Setup",
the lastest versions, and I had the same error message: "Python could not be
properly inititalized."

To fix the problem, I removed Python and PyScripter, and I have installed
"python-3.3.2.amd64" and "PyScripter-v2.5.3-x64-Setup".

In fact PyScripted doesn't work with Python 3.4.2.

Same for me, it's a compatible issue between Python v3.4.x & PyScripter.
Removed Python v3.4 and then installed v3.3.5, then PyScripter works as normal.

**Before** using PyScripter, you must ensure that there is a version of Python
greater or equal to 2.4 installed on your machine. Windows. If you do not have
one
installed, you can download one from http://www.python.org/.

The 64-bit version of PyScripter (x64) works only on 64-bit Windows **and**
with 64-bit versions of Python. The 32-bit version of PyScripter works on both
32-bit and 64-bit Windows with the 32-bit versions of Python.

The latest version of PyScripter at https://sourceforge.net/projects/pyscripter
supports Python 3.4.
