Testing Yocto Kirkstone on reTerminal sometimes the system boots, but display is blank, but sometimes it boots fine with the display working. If the system boots blank then this is found on serial terminal (while ethernet/ssh works):
And the lines are being releated indefinitely. When I ssh into the system and do soft reboot the system gets stuck. If I power cycle the system the display starts correctly sometimes and sometimes blank as shown above.
I have checked the stm32 firmware version and it seems its older than 1.7:
Im a bit reluctant to upgrade stm32 firmware unless the screen problem can actually be caused by the old stm32 firmware - can someone please evaluate whether its worth to upgrade the firmware on the stm32 to fix the screen issues or the screen issues are probably caused by buggy drivers?
It seems not a issue about the STM32 firmware version. It's a problem of the GPU kernel configuration.
We just fix it in this commit.
And you can pull the latest code of meta-seeed-cm4 and try it again.
