[Wiki] Create "Current Features" list on Wiki #53

Open broxen opened 6 years ago

broxen commented 6 years ago

Summary

We should probably have a list of currently implemented features on the Wiki. We could even organize by major release.

A contributor looking to help with this would need to go through the closed PR list and catalog implemented features, and use the release dates as a sort of timeframe for categorizing.

I added a few lines to the Current-and-Future-Features page, so it is editable by us common folk.

I updated some features I found and added links to all the issues if anyone wants to reference them from this page. I thought about dumping every feature I could find that isn't implemented into a "Future Features" section at the bottom, but that seems like overkill since it's listed in #706 already.

Would compiling a list of console commands be helpful (and put a link on that page since server admins will presumably be the ones scouting these out and being able to spawn/teleport/start mission by console/etc. would be useful to know)? Or does such a thing already exist?

Thank you @kezlyr for helping with this. Feel free to expand the wiki as you see fit. In addition, feel free to comment on #706 with issues that I may not have added yet. I often get busy and haven't updated it completely.

My only comment about the list of console commands is that I fear it will become a resource that is relied upon, but not maintained. In-game there is the /cmdlist slashcommand, which will show the user all the commands that they have permissions for (sans any internal client-side commands). If you were to go down this road, I would recommend first referencing the in-game slash command, and the making it clear that the list aims to be definitive but may not keep up with the evolving code base.

P.S. message me on discord.segs.io and I'll bump you up to Contrib role in the chat server. Thanks for helping!

Moving this to Segs.io repo as it should go on the new wiki.segs.io
