Alias configuration does not appear in scconfig #37

Dear developers,

I am using SeisComP 5.1.1 and I have noticed that I cannot see alias configuration in scconfig (Modules menu), however the alias is visible under system menu (for example I can start/stop/enable/disable the alias).

Also, the aliases that were created with a previous version of seiscomp (I do not recall what was the version I used) are visible.

In the screenshots below, the aliases screloc-local and screloc-regional were created with SeisComP 5.1.1, but screloc-hf was already there.

Looks like the problem is $SEISCOMP_ROOT/etc/descriptions/aliases not being updated:

$ cat seiscomp/etc/descriptions/aliases 

scautopick-hf = scautopick
scanloc-hf = scanloc
screloc-hf = screloc

I fixed my problem manually editing the $SEISCOMP_ROOT/etc/descriptions/aliases file. I don't know how to replicate the issue. If you cannot reproduce the problem on your side you can close this issue or I can run some tests for you, if you like.

I have tested that with 5.1.1 and it works for me. Does seiscomp alias create scautopick-test scautopick work for you and updates the aliases file?

It worked fine:

$ cat seiscomp/etc/descriptions/aliases 
scanloc-regional = scanloc

scanloc-hf = scanloc
screloc-regional = screloc

scautopick-hf = scautopick

$ seiscomp alias create scautopick-test scautopick
Registered alias 'scautopick-test' in $SEISCOMP_ROOT/etc/descriptions/aliases
Linking default configuration: scautopick.cfg -> scautopick-test.cfg
Creating app symlink: scautopick -> bin/scautopick-test
Linking init script: scautopick.py -> scautopick-test.py

$ cat seiscomp/etc/descriptions/aliases 
scanloc-regional = scanloc
scanloc-local = scanloc
scanloc-hf = scanloc
screloc-regional = screloc
screloc-local = screloc
screloc-hf = screloc
scautopick-hf = scautopick
scautopick-test = scautopick

At this point I ran scconfig and the alias is visible.

Since I cannot reproduce the issue I am closing this
