Default Fade out animation flickers #9

With Fade out selected as the closing animation for regular windows, If I leave all the tween animations in their default positions, the opacity flickers up and down instead of fading during the closing animation. If I change any of the variables, it behaves as expected.

I am on latest stable manjaro and gnome 3.34.1

All other animations work as expected. I have tried restoring animation tweaks to default and restarting the shell.
