CPU usage #141

Somehow recently this addon has absolutely been using way to much cpu to be actually usable. Uses more cpu than all other addons combined including characters with heavy weakaura packages.

I noticed the same issue myself. This is something that really needs to be addressed and fixed.

I am happy to review PRs. As I don't play WoW nor intend to in future, I have no drive to work on this project. I apologize for the inconvenience.

@Sellorio Are you interested in maintaining this project at the beginning of each version? I am willing to sponsor a fund. (I am also a plug-in developer. This project is really excellent. I believe everyone wants to see it continue to be active)

unix commented 2 years ago

If you are willing to spend some time release the version, you can directly open the sponsorship button of the project.

I have so many projects going on these days that it would be hard to find the time. I've started working on a language learning app and I'm also studying Japanese, playing other games and doing my best to be social when I can.

If you're intereted, I'd be more than happy to take the time to walk you though the code and get you familiar with it and just give you a bunch of hands on help but I can't comfortably commit to deving it myself.

BTW, as a plugin developer you might be interested in https://github.com/Sellorio/azeroth-messenger. It was super early days when I stopped playing - mostly just did a POC on a the UI stuff. The plan was to make a chat-heads style instant-messenger for WoW to handle direct messages, groups, maybe guild chat too to make it all a bit more modern looking and easier to track. Lord knows the built in ui is trash and I couldn't find an existing addon that did what I wanted. The code is also much cleaner than this addon since I was more familiar with how addon dev works.

Oh I just remembered, I think accepting sponsors/donations for addons is against TOS. I remember that coming up before.
