This question for Ole first: Does LML want to host and offer all language versions? English and German?
Also potential more than just German, if someone would like to add one (and be ready to code it)?
If so, the question arises what the landing page would look like. Because there is no possibility to chose the language on the "Start"-page of the English or German version.
So if we want different language versions simply approachable on one page we'd need an extra page where useres a directed to before and get to chose the specific language version.
This could be the picture/animation of the "Start"-Page, plus an opportunity to chose the language, from which you get to either English or German version.
Or simpler just a list that says something like "Farmers Fable" English Deutsch (and may be later more)
Alternatively LML just offers the English version and I'll figure out where to put and link the German one.
Unfortunately this wasn't developed very well with forward compatibility for new languages. Again, the bottleneck was use of Construct, which I had no control of early on.
Adding the option of selecting the language from within the project itself would mean duplicating every single slide (graphics and code), which would double file size of the project.
We need to actually clone the entire project for each language translation and host it in a separate repo and subdirectory of farmersfable.com, i.e. www.farmersfable.com/de or /en, etc.
We could have an HTML page at the index of farmersfable.com with a language list to take you to each translated version of the project.
I can set this up easily but we need to get moving on creating the LML repositories.
See here: https://github.com/SeloSlav/FarmersFable/issues/17#issuecomment-492596408
We will continue to host at this GitHub account then.
@Marcthewriter, if you could please set the A records on your www.farmersfable.com domain to the following:
I can handle everything else, including how to deal with language translations.
Okay. Have to check how with the provider. I am not the tech-guy
If you email your tech support they will probably just do it for you.
Can do that tommorrow my time earliest. Keep you updated
If I'd use another domain (German for farmersfable) to lead users directly to the German language version - www.bauernfabel.com - would I create the same A-records as for farmersfable.com or different ones?
Yes different A records in that case. But we won't know what those are until I finish the English version and set up a new repository for the German version. So let get all the changes done here first.
ok

Ok, done for www.farmersfable.org (.org because that is the one I anounced in the book's afterword). Should take up to 24h to update.
Oh - one more thing, I'm not sure this was communicated yesterday: the running numbers below the graphs are mislabeled. What's labelled "Bill" is actually Ann, and vice versa.
To make sure we're all on the same page: this development is a great job, we're very happy about it, and we will promote it through our channels. We just realized that the amount of work we were causing, both at our end and at yours, was getting out of control and couldn't be dealt with given deadlines and other constraints.

Yes, it has been fixed for some graphs and some not, yet. I adressed this already in a mail to Martin

May be I hadn't deleted my cache - seems to be fixed for all graphs
Okay cool. I'll link the domain once the A records propagate.
Yes I believe the labels have been fixed for all graphs. Let me know if there are any other erorrs like that.
okay. Just as a reminder, it is www.farmersfable.org
Let me know if there are any other erorrs like that.
Can't find any.
I think it has been adressed somewhere already, that all graphs with Ann and Bill not always start at exactly 1kg - guess because they start with harvest 1, which already includes the first round of growth of x1.5 or x0.7?
A bit irritating but explainable (if someone asked).
Yes that is a bit irritating. I think I know how to fix it it now though. Will update the chart with a fixed value on startup before plugging in the noise multiplier.
But wouldn't we then have to start with something like "Harvest 0"? Or "Start"? Or do people assume "Harvest 1" as starting point where no growth has taken place so far (since it is the first one in the graph anyway)?
Hmm... We aren't differentiating between harvesting and sowing so I think it would make more sense to just call it Harvest 1.
"On the first harvest, 1 kg of wheat was harvested."
Let me know if there are any other erorrs like that.
There would be a minor thing but not a real error, just a formalism. If it isn't too much effort. On those two slides it should be Ann (Alone), Ann (Cooperating) or Ann Alone, Ann Cooperating - with or without parenthesis - more congruent. Currently everything is with parenthesis, exept Ann Alone and Bill Alone below the graph. I'd suggest it with parenthesis above the graph, and without parenthesis below the graph. So only below the graph skip the parenthesis and change Ann (Cooperating): to Ann Cooperating:, and Bill (Cooperating): to Bill Cooperating:
Hmm... We aren't differentiating between harvesting and sowing so I think it would make more sense to just call it Harvest 1.
"On the first harvest, 1 kg of wheat was harvested."
So we keep it as it is.

I can't really see it because it goes too fast - but does Bill alone, in the very first two graphs (before Ann) also start at Harvest 1 with the first growth round included already? If so, we should keep everything as it is (would save you some work, too :-)
At least at the graph with the good and bad seasons it seems to be like this. So I suggest keeping everything as it is. Sorry for bringing it up.
Concerning the language issue:

Martin, I think this would be great
And since I still hate the idea that people cannot use and share it on their phones I'd like to offer them a workaround: On the HTML page not to just offer the two language versions but also videos of the two versions (which I would make once the animations are finished - could they be hosted on GitHUb or would we link to YouTube?). So we would offer
Farmers Fable, English, Interactive (computers, tablets only) Farmers Fable, English, Video (phones, too) Bauernfabel, Deutsch, Interaktiv (für Computer und Tablets) Bauernfabel, Deutsch, Video (auch für Smartphones)
What do you think?
That could work too. Uploading to YouTube would be best.
Closing this issue since it has to do with the custom domain. The English version has been set up. I will open a new one for the German version.
We need the following:
If we would like to host the source code from the LML GitHub account then LML should either clone and re-upload the files to a new repository, or fork the current one.
Once the new repository is created, change the configuration file to point to the new GitHub Pages subdomain, i.e. https://LdnMathLab.github.io/FarmersFable/ (example).
Once the new project is live, we can add www.farmersfable.com or www.farmersfable.org to the new GitHub Pages repository.
