This lab aimed to scan for vulnerabilities on a workstation from a different workstation using the Security Evaluator tool and fix all the vulnerabilities that the Security Evaluator tool found.

The first task was to open the Security Evaluator tool, and then select the Office 2 workstation that was going to be scanned. Once the Scan was complete the list of vulnerabilities popped up. Image

Once I identified the vulnerabilities, I went to the workstation Office 2to fix them. The first vulnerability I fixed was renaming the administrator account. I first opened up the Computer Management tab and then went to the Local Users and Groups section and clicked Users. The original name for administrator account was administrator, I changed it to new name. Image

The next vulnerability I fixed was disabling the Guest Account. I clicked on Guest and then I clicked disable account. Image

The next vulnerability I fixed was requiring a strong password for one of the accounts. The requirements for the password were that it had to be unique and had 12 characters. Image

The next vulnerability that needed fixing was unlocking an account and then removing the same account from the administrator group. I clicked on the account and then I deselected the Account is locked out box and then clicked apply. I then clicked the members of tab, clicked on the administrator's group. Image Image Image

The next issue I fixed was turning on the Windows firewall, I fixed this issue by going to Control Panel, clicking on System and Security, and then clicking on Windows Firewall. Image Image Image

The final issue the needed to be resolved was removing a file share. I went to the file which was titled My Music and went into the properties and then went to the sharing tab, clicked advanced sharing and then unmarked the Sharing box. Image Image

Finally, I went back to the IT Admin workstation and ran the Security Evaluator again to confirm all the issues have been resolved. Image
