In the tree format of Semantic Formats the parameter root works only if its value consists of Latin characters.

Works:

 [[Located in::+]]
 |format=tree
 |parent=Located in
 |root=Germany
 }}

Does not work:

{{#ask:
 [[Located in::+]]
 |format=tree
 |parent=Located in
 |root=ישראל
 }}
