I will probably be doing this on Sunday 4, 2016. Let's see how Ubuntu behaves.
@JeroenDeDauw Just to make sure. It is possible to upgrade the existing VM?!
This is now happening. Keeping fingers crossed.
Well this is quite unexpected. I believe the server upgrade worked well but now it seems that SMW is not ready for MySQL 5.7
For the record. The upgrade as such took 30 minutes.
The upgrade was to
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release: 16.04
Codename: xenial
which is cool and in "/etc/upgrade-manager" we have Prompt=lts
This was the reason why I imperatively had to upgrade: The cert was to expire next week and since StartSSL was removed from trust in Fx and Ch we would have had worries starting in January even with a renewed and valid StartSSL cert. Now both "www.s-mw.o" and "doc.s-mw.o" are serving with Let's encrypt certs. Doing this on 15.10 would have been painful.
For the record: (this also applies to
@JeroenDeDauw @mwjames
This is now a scheduled for Dec 2016 thing. This release of Ubuntu ships with MySQL 5.7 and PHP 7.0
