If anyone else finds their way to this obscure place, my contact on twitter is @goatchurch.
I am not the right person to coordinate this effort, but I do know that 500 lines of Matlab code grudgingly released in order to satisfy the AAAS publication guidelines is not going to be adequate to make full use of the mass of very fine-grained worldwide geographical data that wants to be fire-hosed at a high-performance computer.
Come on all you high-flying quants and rocket scientists on Wall Street with nothing to do when the money's run out, and those election campaign engineers with their street-by-street voting behavior and dangerously accurate demographic turnout models, why don't you get this together right now and try and do something good and worthy of your talents for a change?
