Booting from internal SSD #4

Hi! We're you able to boot your Spectre from the internal SSD without the USB?

I can't seem to do it, and someone told me that it's not possible with a Spectre since HP doesn't allow you to boot from the SSD. is this true?

I cannot boot from internal SSD with Opencore - Big Sur, and I have to boot from external usb.

But Clover - Catania works normally: You need to add a boot entry manually whose EFI path is set to PreLoader.efi instead of loader.efi.

Got it. Is it simple to convert from OpenCore to Clover? I don't have much experience with it. I'm assuming I won't have to reinstall Catalina. Thanks for the reply!

Have no idea how much work you need to do if you build from the beginning with clover since the clover efi in this repo is based on other works.

And I think you don't need to reinstall Catalina. You can create an usb with EFI partition and try your clover efi with your usb. It should be ok to boot to existing Catalina from external usb with clover
