Wdt v4.0 circuit diagram #4

20210819_165328 Hello, My WDT board is version 4.0. It has these pinnout shown in the picture which there is no information on the circuit diagram available on Github. Can you send the v4.0 circuit diagram of the Wdt board? Is there a way we can power on the Rpi after a power off? Because when using the Wdt board, when we do a power off on the Rpi via command, the Wdt keeps the energy on and we can't power on the Rpi again until the WDT battery finishes. Tks

Hi Eduardo,

The watchdog function is default disbled to prevent unwanted power off the RPI. You need to enable this function by setting a period "wdt -p <value in seconds>" then you have to maintain the wdt by issuing a reload command "wdt -r", or any command even the -p command, periodically at intervals less than the period you set. All this command can be done with cron or with a piton script that runs at startup. This way the watchdog will report your RPI when you shut down or the RPI hung. Please post future questions on our forum https://sequentmicrosystems.com/a/p/forum/so more people can benefit.

Best regards,

Hi, is there any hardware jumper to physically power off/on the RPI on the wdt board? Maybe on those pins I mention before. I am asking it because am using the wdt board with a protected OS on RPI, so I am not able to develop any script. Tks

There is no way to use it as watchdog without sending commands to it. The watchdog can not know if your RPI is not frizzed if you not talking wit it and will cut the power.

Alex.
