3.2 version refuses to open deck file on Windows 8 (and maybe Windows 7) #89

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open previously saved file in Deck Creator, created with ARDB

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- I expect to see my deck, instead I see error: "An error occured while opening
[file path]"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- ARDB 3.2 on Windows 8

Please provide any additional information below.

I did some testing to narrow down the bug and all following cases refused to
open:
- Empty file (No name, description, crypt or library cards in deck)
- Only name and one crypt card, no library cards
- Only name and one library card, no crypt cards
- Name, one crypt card and one library card in the deck.

Attached screen capture.

I also noticed, that ardb 3.2 zip does not contain mingwm10.dll library, dunno
if that matters.

Sorry for the late reply. I almost have no time to invest in the project
anymore. Also I had to set up a debugging environment, which took me a while.
So far it looks like libxml library fails to parse the xml file. I do not have
a clear idea why this happens. I'll try linking to a downgraded version of the
library.

I had the same issue.

Downloaded a previous version and it works.

In my case, I used the version 3.1.0 from
https://code.google.com/p/ardb/downloads/list
