This thread is for issues related to running Serenity under VMware (similar to #2927 for tracking issues with VirtualBox).
Now that Serenity can run on VMware, there's several issues that have cropped up while using it:
No networking - Network adapter is not detected.
No sound - Sound blaster SB16 is not detected.
Powering off the system (shutdown -n) causes the system to freeze. Comparatively, restarting the system (reboot) works fine.
Booting into text mode presents a black screen with no shell prompt. Commands can still be entered and executed (ie, reboot<enter> will reboot the system).
