desktop icons dissapear until Windows-D key pressed #158

What steps will reproduce the problem?
* Start the desktop application and switch between desktops, sometimes the 
icons on the desktop dissapear (empty desktop), but the open windows and task 
bar remains OK.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6 beta 2, also happens with 1.5

Otherwise great work! Please keep it as simple as possible and don't add any 
new features!
