Ctrl or alt or shift + <-/-> is too limiting. Too many other programs already
have very useful (& already living in my muscle memory) bindings to these.
Meta+Win + <-/-> or other combinations are less commonly bound - let's face it
switching desktops is less common than operations within a program.
There is another enhancement to disable left/right desktop completely - that
would do but...
