3.0 Beta 1 no virus detected version allowed to be shared via different link? #598

Hello! The main overall question is; Is the 3.0 Beta 1 zip (no virus detected version) allowed to be shared through other sources other than this specific link/source? (I checked the Readme.License.txt and license.txt but I'm extremely stupid and cannot wrap my head around it.) For context; I and many others mod a game (specifically Yandere Simulator, which uses Unity 2020.3.13f1). The game pretty much only works with specifically 3.0, so I/we cannot use older versions of UABE such as 2.2 (I tried many times, it gives me the error "Unable to read bundle file! (Invalid file or unknown version?)" when importing a .assets file. In the modding community, UABE is extremely important sense we cannot change certain textures with commands or dll. Plus, my friend may have figured out how to replace meshes (we're still figuring it out). If we do figure it out, we'd probably like to make tutorials for other people to use the program too. But, the whole virus detection situation has us on edge (plus many others who don't have the "safe/virus free" version cannot use UABE at all). Luckily, my friend and I have an older version of 3.0 Beta 1 where it didn't have the virus detection thing, and I'd wondering if we can share that version to other people. Of course we respect the answer if its a no (I'm guessing it probably is), but it would be wonderful if the answer is yes. Or, if anyone knows if another version of UABE that would work with the game is somewhere, we'd appreciate that too. Basically, I'll take any answer or information. (If I need to give more information I can do so, but again I'm quite stupid so I may need some assistance with understanding [also, I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong place to ask a question...If anyone could guide me to the right place, I'd appreciate that]) Thank you for taking the time to read, and if anyone responds, thank you.

That wont work. Tried uploading it to google drive and dropbox, both softwares blocked it due to virus detection reasons.

I too have the non virus version from before all this occured.

It's not a virus. How many times does this have to be said???

MacoDeVinx commented 1 year ago

Until it works and no longer says it's a virus :))

LukeSaward1 commented 1 year ago

just because it detects it as a virus doesn't mean that it is.

Perhaps. But if it can't even be downloaded, like the download completely shuts down due to a virus detection then there is definitely something wrong. And it doesn't have anything to do with your computer or browser it seems.

I have tried to upload the version I downloaded months ago without issues to dropbox or google drive, but it won't be accepted due to a "virus", but if I run it through my anti-virus then it's clean so 🤷

It must have something to do with the code and with windows being updated so the code would be now seen as harmful.

Hi, I'd like to report that right now I downloaded it on Microsoft Edge without any issues. Extracted normally using windows defender. No issues. Yesterday I had the virus warnings and subscribed to the discussion because I was worried too. This morning I would try to download the 32 bit version because someone said it had no warnings, but I clicked the 64 bit version again and... voilà, downloaded, opened, no issues. Maybe dev reports went through? IDK.
