Spruce wood doesn't apepar to act like wood #12

Spruce wood logs can't be used in several recipes that accept wood. Needing spruce stairs seems to have glitched the building of my Minecolonies Builders hut. Running version 1.0.5.3 SSP.

SeriousCreeper commented 4 years ago

Any specific recipes i could look at? Spruce should just work as normal, dont think there is anything that would change it.

SuddenTurmoil commented 4 years ago

Firing and rehiring the worker fixed the spruce stairs issue. The recipe that first caught my attention was the wooden mallet from Tetra cannot use Spruce logs.

SeriousCreeper commented 4 years ago

Could you try to craft the mallet on the latest version? It should work in 1.5.0.4 (just confirmed it myself).

SuddenTurmoil commented 4 years ago

The log mallet now works with spruce. I noticed that Oak wood has 23 pages of recipes, while Spruce has 21. The Magneticraft Transposer only works with oak planks, no other wood.

Just to add (to the confusion) it seems that some mod or mechanic messes with the oredict somehow. Earlier today I could make oak chests out of cherry wood from Forestry but now I can't. Same happened with dark oak. I'll try to relog/restart and see if it solves the issue and edit this comment.

Edit: After relog I can make sticks out of dark oak logs again (2 logs for 16 sticks) but I can't use cherry wood as "generic wood" which I believe I could before. Can't bet anything valuable on this but the dark oak not turning to sticks issue I know I have had a couple of times.

And to add to what Maham is saying, today I could make a Transposer with spruce wood. So, something odd is going on.

SeriousCreeper commented 4 years ago

That does sound really weird. When that happens again (as in a recipe isnt accepting a certain type of wood), could you turn on advanced tooltips (F3 + H) and look at the log you are tyring to use, see if it mentions the logWood ore dictionary?

I have a feeling Unidict might be doing something weird. If so, i'll just have to remove it and manually combine some of the ore dictionaries.

SeriousCreeper commented 4 years ago

This should be fixed in 1.0.6.0

Okimo commented 4 years ago

Version 1.0.6.2 Had the issue with Forestry wood / planks Later on with every wood / planks besides the Oak. The wood kept its "logWood" oredictionary as the planks "plankWood". After some time it started working again... Unfortunately I don't know what caused it and what happened to fix it ( Restarting game didn't help ).
