Issue with items in widgets #113

Open computechnopro opened 3 years ago

computechnopro commented 3 years ago

I've recently switched to Kodi 19.1 and the latest AuraMod, from Kodi 18.9 and Aura skin. Almost everything works fine and to my liking. But, why do I get items (movies/shows/animes) in the widgets, that I've already watched, or removed from the library, or are duplicates of items I already have! (the ones that have a tick ✔ mark on them). They aren't visible in the main "Title" video library widget. Only appears on "Recently watched/added etc." widgets. They look like generic and/or blank posters! Any way to remove them?

Refer to these SS..

I'ma take stab in the dark and say this feels like maybe not using the most updated jurialmunkey themoviedb.helper (which was just updated 6 days ago), or kodi community addons metadatautils(updated yesterday), whilst maybe having undesired settings for said widgets?

I just saw they updated the new wiki, have you done all this? https://github.com/SerpentDrago/skin.auramod/wiki/Post-Install-Instructions did u follow the install instructions? https://github.com/SerpentDrago/skin.auramod/wiki/Install-Instructions

As for the duplicate part, that is interesting. I have had library problems in the past where seemingly one movie would be uploaded as two separate files in kodi and I could set different art to each and they would display one after they other when looking in LIBRARY:://VIDEOS/MOVIES/ but only one showed up if i looked in the actual nfs library location. I was able to clear them by removing, cleaning my database and re-adding all my library items.

To me, this feels like a "dirty" kodi/library with maybe some components not being the most up to date and some undesired settings. I was having the same problem when I first updated and didn't have all the right component plugins, api's, and settings set.

If what I said above doesn't help and no one else responds and gives a more definitive answer, I'd do a full reinstall(backup, uninstall, install, install auramod and components making sure to have the mostuptodate/correct/all, check logs for errors, go through every single setting/api, and then add library files). but that's obviously a last option answer.

Sorry I wasn't able to give more help.

See above comment.

I don't think it is a skin issue, there's just missing artwork/metadata for two different shows/episodes, as I notice that one of them has a watched status but the other shows 3 episodes left.

Maybe try rescraping with TMDB python TV shows scraper?

Thank you for the reply. I don't have any media files for any of those faulty items in my HDD! Anyways, How do I remove/clear the whole library without removing media?

If it's one or two files you could try removing the file from your library: try to navigate to the video through a see more tab: (you could probably find an easier way to get the manage context menu item, but im lazy atm sry)

2021-06-09 22_58_36-Greenshot

go to the file you want to remove and press c to open the context menu and scroll down to manage

2021-06-09 22_58_51-Greenshot

scroll down to remove from library

2021-06-09 22_58_58-Greenshot

If it's a bunch of files, you're best bet is to try this: Go into your settings and then Media Settings

2021-06-09 22_52_23-Greenshot

Stay on the Library tab and scroll down to the VIDEO LIBRARY section. Select Clean Library. If you have music that's also bugging out keep scrolling down to the MUSIC LIBRARY section and select Clean Library again

2021-06-09 22_49_22-Greenshot

You should be able to clear the faulty files that way, but you could possibly run into the problem of re-scanning it back in. If that happens you'll have to remove all of your library sources and re-add them. Sadly.

On the Library Tab, scroll up to MANAGE SOURCES and select Videos...

2021-06-09 22_51_35-Greenshot

Go to the video source that may contain the bad file(s) (It's probably smart to note that removing all sources is suggested)

2021-06-09 22_53_27-Greenshot

Press c to open context menu. Scroll down to remove source

2021-06-09 22_53_19-Greenshot

I would also restart Kodi PRIOR to re-adding all of your sources just to be sure, and if the bugs re-scan back in again, you could try removing the bad files from the source, re-add it and then one by one add in the bad ones re-scanning sources each time. Beats the nuclear option...

IF that doesn't work, it's either(goingdown): your kodi install, the version of AuraMod Components (skinhelperservice/widgets,tmdbhelper,metadatautils or,anything else in dependencies), your api keys, or however you're sourcing your media(direct HDD/SSD, NFS, SMB, FTP, or whatever else the kids are using these days).

**ABSOLUTELY if it's not that, whatever OS you're using isn't cache'ing the data correctly or something beyond the scope of this forum is going on. Buuut if it's that last one, you shouldn't be trying to play videos...

Thanks a lot for your suggestion! When I press on See more, the watched/duplicate items are not there! and Clearing Video library doesn't help either..

jojobrogess commented 3 years ago

Well either the widget you clicked on is something with a limited "view", as in is only showing a small list of movies/tvshows (so you didn't choose something that's a little more comprehensive like "all titles" and that's why you can't find them) or you're library has a bug.

If you still can't fix the duplicate items, remove all sources, close and then re-open Kodi and re-add sources.

If that doesn't work try to remove the bad file(s) from your source, then clean library, then re-add and re-scan sources.

If that doesn't work, uninstall Kodi and start from a new.

If that still doesn't work, your problem in how you save/host/source videos(HDD, SSD, NFS, SMB, FTP, url files)

Or the video files just bug out in Kodi. I've had it happen. I had a video file that had a broken language srt file somehow, and would try to open all 3 subtitles at the same time and would crash my Kodi.

I eventually had to make a new copy.

I've already given you as much information on this subject that I know and the solutions I know that could help with fixing this. I really hope you can figure this one out

SerpentDrago commented 3 years ago

Where exactly is the widget pointed ? EXACTLY , have you tried just remaking the widget , removing widget going back home then restarting kodi between ?

I really am failing to see how on earth this is a Auramod / skin issue . sounds like something is weird with your setup . All the widgets in a skin do is list the stuff in the path you point it to . They either have the artwork or don't . and we can't replicate your issue cause we dont' have your files . but no one else has reported any library issues on widgets that are not already fixed . and plenty of people on this very github issue section use auramod with local library sources.

Actually, I'm very busy with issues in life, so have yet to try out the advice provided. I'll try sometime soon and report back. TY😊
