Fishing Changes
Mechanics
- Less time until fish appear?
- Guaranteed to always catch a fish.
- Occasionally "catch" a hostile mob? (drowned zombie, silverfish, etc)
- Fish availability depends on biome. (ie, tropical fish only in tropical oceans)
- Remove from list of Salvage Skill parents.
Fishing Drop Table
Common
- 1 Bottle
- 1 Ink sac
- 1-3 Kelp
- 1 Rotten flesh
- 1 Sea pickle
- 1-3 Seagrass
- 1 Stick
Uncommon
Require LotS 1 or 25 fishing
- 1 Fishing Rod (Damaged, Potentially Enchanted)
- 1 Flint (simulates catching a rock)
- 1 Leather Boot (Damaged, Potentially Enchanted, Random Colors)
- 1-4 Prismarine Shards
- 1-2 Prismarine Crystals
- 1 Scute
Books
Require LotS 2 or 50 fishing Higher-tier books are rarer. These are all books that are related to water or that could (theoretically) survive being underwater:
- Aqua Affinity
- Channeling
- Depth Strider
- Frost Walker
- Impaling
- Loyalty
- Luck of the Sea
- Lure
- Mending
- Protection
- Respiration
- Riptide
- Silk Touch
- Unbreaking
Rare
Require LotS 3 or 75 fishing
- 1 Boat (wood based on biome)
- 1 Bowl (Some of that suspicious stew from shipwrecks probably fell out of those chests.)
- 1 CD
- 1 Compass (Sailors probably drop these sometimes.)
- 1 Diamond (A fish could have eaten one from a shipwreck.)
- 1 Emerald (A fish could have eaten one from a shipwreck.)
- 1 Ender eye (People drop them in the ocean while searching for strongholds.)
- 0 Hearts of the Sea (This should remain shipwreck-only -- we already have far too many, and it would make conduits super common.)
- 1 Nametag
- 1 Nautilus
- 1 Pirate Banner
- 1 Skeleton Charge (This is the Jolly Roger symbol in a Pirate Flag)
- 1 Spawn Egg for an Aquatic Animal
- 1 Trident (Damaged, Potentially Enchanted)
- 1 Turtle egg
Fishing in mcMMO is boring and adds very little to gameplay. It also removes vanilla fishing advantages, like many enchanted books. It should be reworked to make fishing worthwhile.
