Can we go with a panorama app for windows phone? or a tile interface like This was the start screen of mood indigo - Ignore the volume bar
For each page, we can have diff designs
For first page ... Tiling would be good, but its waay too popular na ? And something more appealing should be nicer. Some nice animationish thing ?
oh and i found this : https://dev.windowsphone.com/en-us/design/principles

Hey, @nishanthkarthik This is for android :P Put windows ideas in windows-app-15 Ive added you to this thread cuz you need to know whats happening here also.
@Geethik : Hexagon tiles looks good. How difficult is it to make ?
Things that we need in frontend : (same as what i put for windows. ....)
Thats about it.
Let's begin with Events. @Geethik : you didnt call me ... call me asap @vind1994 : Start with events page. Take any idea which you like and make the sub-categories page. Post a pic depicting your idea before starting making it.
Timeline :
We will then populate everything by 25th. And complete any pending bugs by 30th.
is it Jun or July

- Events page - A page to show specific events eg : A page to show info about Robowars. Note : This can have multiple tabs like : Prize money, Contacts, Intro, Problem Statement, etc.
- Lectures/Exhibitions Page
- Shows Page - A mini para on envisage + videos/pics
- Spons page - shows images of sponsors
- About Us/Contact - Some gen thing. The contact should be nicely made though.
Thats about it.

Woops, mixed up my months. I've edited it - wont change on email, but will be different in git
@srihari1995 : Lectures page.
@srihari1995 @vind1994 : Let's make up a good idea by tonight ? Windows junta have a nice idea already. Check it out, do you want to do something similar ? Also, this brings up something of importance : Should droid and windows app look same ? Or do you want them to be unique ?
Hi, for the android app..
here 2 and 3 will be in scroll layout and 1,4 will be fixed ( 1 at top and 4 at the bottom)

Yep, seems fine. But can you check out the things i wrote on windows-app-15 ? it sounds more cooler to me
Basically : Shaastra app is meant to be to ut pseud .. .so, im more inclined to that. Read and give comments. Im thinking currently making the same design will be better for both apps.
Design team will be over burdened with so much work.
So, yeah : check out that discussion,a nd tell which you like better

Same design for both apps would be good i guess. Some thoughts: 1) I feel the shield OS thing is a bit cluttered. Would people like looking at it for a continued period, and how smoothly would it work on a low to mid range phone? Also, how would it look in portrait mode which is more preferred? 2) Could we go for a simpler design? Like a list of items when clicked on, just expands(maybe blurring the background,or just pushing other speaker up and down), has a video preview of the speaker, link to more info and other details. 3) The app is for dispensing information about the fest right? If we want pseud we could include some utility, mini games, etc and use more animations.
@harsh, comments? I would've assumed it would be easy. shield os isn't thaaat complicated ... its just a bunch of pics moving around. And it won't be in landscape - I meant something like we take tiny elements from there and use for portrait mode.
In shield os also it'll be like lists and stuff ... but with pics as background.
@vinod, Nishanth - thoughts? Lets decide this quickly. Ideation should be done by tomorrow. On Jun 22, 2014 8:26 PM, "srihari1995" notifications@github.com wrote:

Hi, first of all, i feel shield os might look good when you have a first look at it, but that wouldn't fit into our design concept ( this is what i felt). in the mobile screen it wouldn't serve our purpose. and coming to the design part every thing except the buttons in the shield os has to be a background image(if we have to design this idea in the app) and about the buttons, to style the buttons as it is in the shield os design- we have two options: one making a background image of that design, two designing it using xml( i feel designing it is not possible i guess as far as i know)
my idea: we should design the app according to the content and later on we can play with the color combinations and animations to make it look good.

I agree with @vind1994. The UI should be elegant, must work on low end phones properly without lags, make the user wanna come back to the app. Shield OS is like you taste it once, you get bored next, and uninstall. It must be simple like the facebook app. We can do a lot more animations and transitions. And, make the user feel classy.
Alrighty typical app then?
There are ready made templates for this available online. Try them out? On Jun 22, 2014 10:28 PM, "nishanthkarthik" notifications@github.com wrote:

Yup i agree with @nishanthkarthik. Lets have the landing page/ main page in shield OS theme with the circular thing in the middle etc and the further pages can be customized to the theme but look minimalist.
Can i get a link for trying out shield OS on my browser, like a webpage that uses it?
Google it. And shield os is what's used In avengers and iron man use. Its not a real os. You have themes for rainmeter ... again, Google it On Jun 22, 2014 10:35 PM, "srihari1995" notifications@github.com wrote:

You have not been added by us. Github sometimes misunderstands markdown and adds various people. So you can just click the link to "View this on Github" and un-watch the conversation. it's your account. Not something that I can do.
So, coming back ... @srihari1995 : Simple lectures app, as you see fit. let's go with cards and a good sleep look @vind1994 : Events page. Deadlines : I'd like to see the basic version by 25th. Also, @vind1994 : make a app and push it to github. Srihari, you gotta work on the same app. So do not make an app yourself and just modify the .java files and xml files in the app that vinod makes.
There will only be 1 app. You both have to work together on it.
Well if you stop using @vinod that would help, which you did use in your earlier conversation. Not saying it's your fault but Github takes that literally as an account name.

you can see the basic elements form earlier years app at : https://github.com/ShaastraWebops/Mobops-2013 And i have no idea where code of 2014 is ...
Or you can check shaastra.org/2015/frontend/projects/minimal_mainsite/php/home.php The site we're gonna release and get an idea of what all needs to be shown
