Open RustoMCSpit opened 1 year ago

a 15 second clip will play and you have to input the time signature

harder modes will include multiple time signatures in one audio clip

I feel like time signature is a transcription thing and not an ear training thing, thus I don't think it fits the purpose of this app.

there are plenty of online yt videos dedicated to time signature ear training https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JZkffXLtVPI https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KviXagdwt1E

  1. Yeah, but this is only useful to be aware of if you need to write the music, not so much if you need to play it. You will notice that the app doesn't have any rhythmic dictations because the assumption is that you don't need to understand how to write the rhythm in order to play it, but you need to understand the chords and notes played in order to play it.
  2. Do you find the above videos difficult to follow? I never had any "time signature" ear training but it's obvious to me to identify these simple meters.

1) it is useful to tell meter as it helps you accent your playimg properly

2) yes, i find it very hard to tell meter in most songs

I feel like this is something you need to practice more as part of your instrument training routine, but not necessarily ear training.

Since I've never heard of it I doubt there is much request for this, but I'll keep it open to see if anyone else is interested.

~7K views is not a lot for YouTube. Also - the fact that there is SOME audience for this doesn't mean that it's popular. I'll see if other users are interested.
