segfault regression #115

When integrating partition/fs information, I know how a regression where it 
will segfault for large image files and not property process them.

fixed that issue. now i need to ensure i cover the non-volume fs when adding 
the treenode and pulling from the db...

i can't believe i forgot to reimplement that functionality when i combined the 
partition/file system code.
