CPU Spikes to 40-80% when printing HTML or PDF #201

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Due to the graphics processing required to render and scale HTML or PDF
content, slower machines may experience near-lockup scenarios when printing
HTML or PDF.

This was observed and reported on systems running Windows POSReady 2009, Intel
Atom 1.6 CPUs (Embedded platforms).

The current recommendation is to use raw printing when possible, which in
contrast benchmarks at 1-2% CPU.

If popularly demanded, future versions will experiment with tweaking
performance for slow CPU machines.
