I have the exact same problem with HTC ADP 1.5 build (JesusFreke) and
WebCallDirect
(also a betamax product, just like voipbuster).
I tried using WIFI, and also got call & answer working perfectly, but when
picking up
I don't get voice on either sides. The WebCallDirect account works perfectly via
other methods, and also when using PBXES it works well through this same
WebCallDirect account. So I guess direct SIP server connections are not working
100%
in SipDroid yet ? But I'm sure (and hope) it will in the future :)
At this same time I would like to tell that you are doing very great work
people! I
want to thank you so much for this great product, the first SIP client on
Android!
And even free! Thanks for all your work guys!

My OS version is 1.5 (build CRB17), and have the same problem with JustVoip.
It registers allright and calling is also successful. But both side can't hear
anything.

I'm having the same problem using the Market version 0.9.4 on my HTC Magic
(running cupcake).
VoipBuster is able to place the call, but there is no sound at all.

Please take a look at the codec it is being negotiated. As far as I know, it
only
works with G711.

Hey guys, I used to had the same problem with Voipbuster. However, after some
research, I discovered that the audio RTP protocol uses ports from 10000 to
30000.
And, guess what?! Just after I added an "Application Rule" in my internet router
triggering ports 10000-30000 for 10000-30000 public ports, I could use
Voipbuster
with cristal clear sound!

same problem here with sparvoip (almost the same like voipbuster).
portforwarding did
not solve the problem (tested with tcp and udp). call ends after about 10
seconds.
statement from the developer would be nice!

Hi everyone, there is a report here that Betamax products (voipbusterpro,
voipbuster,
12voip, lowratevoip, etc, etc, etc,) work with pbxes. HOWEVER, while you do get
sound
and all, you cannot reliably take advantage of the "freedays" that the Betamax
products provide, because pbxes does not implement IP passthrough as of now.
This
results in Betamax deciding that your account has used up all your weekly
minutes,
and it flags your calls as exceeded FUP (Fair Usage Policy), and bills you for
it.
Hence, using pbxes.org with ANY Betamax product is a workaround but NOT a
solution.
In fact, it's a frustrating experience.
Using voxalot as a workaround with Betamax products ALSO doesn't work, because
sipdroid cannot even register on voxalot. I believe that sipdroid is missing
some
setting(s) (realm for one) which appear to be vital for voxalot.
So, to recap:
1) Direct connection to Betamax products has no sound.
2) Indirect connection through PBXes has sound but billing issues.
3) Indirect connection through voxalot is impossible due to impossibility to
register.
Can somebody suggest a further workaround?
Thanks!

I don't use voipbuster but I can mention my own two scenarios.
1) sipdroid<->asterisk. if i call sipdroid from a landline, or call a landline
from
sipdroid, no sound.
2) sipdroid<->pbxes.org<->asterisk. call sipdroid from landline: works
perfectly!
call landline from sipdroid, no sound.
Calls connect perfectly. As per [Comment 14 by rene.knorr, May 26, 2009], when
there's no sound the call disconnects after about 10 seconds or so.
In my case I have my own did provider (didww) and call termination (grnvoip)
working
together in asterisk already without problems.
I have canreinvite=no and have tried forcing the alaw codec, to no avail.

Got exactly the same problem with voipdiscount.com.
This seems to be big issue with many betamax providers.
Can we increase severity/priority?
Thanks.

there is a simple way, follow the steps:
1. Sell your android phone
2. Buy an Iphone 3g or 3gs.
3. Install any free sip client.
4. Make calls.
I have had very a very experience recently in which i have wasted alot of money
in buying a htc magic, the OS
is good, but it will take a long time, when every thing works perfect like an
iphone.
There is no problem in any SIP provider, its just the OS which is too feeble to
handle all this mature stuff. Dont
waste your energy and time and just buy an Iphone and live in peace.

solution,

Hi Guys,
Same problem in green ;) I had my issue with justvoip.com.
I also opened an account with gizmo5 & hey presto the wifi
connection worked fine, which would be end of story if they
wouldn't charge such high mobile rates :(
I would however really like to go back to using justvoip.
Which also means I'm waiting for a solution

If someone still has problems with betamax accounts, just create a free voxalot
account (http://www.voxalot.com) then add your betamax account (easier than in
pbxes)
and in your phone configuration use:
Username: <the number you chose at voxalot>
Password: <your password at voxalot>
Server: proxy01.eu1.voxalot.com
Port: 5060
Protocol: UDP
Note: if you use the default server eu.voxalot.com you will be charged for all
your
calls. This is a known issue and is because of the new proxy of voxalot in
europe,
then be careful to use proxy01.eu1.voxalot.com instead.
I tested it and I can confirm that you can make calls using your free betamax
minutes
(I have a 12voip account).
You can see more information on this thread:
http://forum.voxalot.com/voxalot-support/4077-fup-exceeded-after-reconfiguration
-ata.html
Regards.

Same (or similar) issue here. I'm using iiNet in Australia for my VoIP / SIP,
and
everything goes extremely well, registers, and calls etc, until on the call,
and I
CAN hear the other party, but they CAN'T hear me.
I tried going through PBXes but I can't even get calls to connect with that
(registers but calls don't connect).
This app is so close to working (aside from this and the broken 'mute' button)!
There
is nothing else like this app on Android, so please get it working!

To all people who have problems connecting their favorite sip/voip service
provider
...
Your problems are most probably caused by incompatible codecs or something like
that.
Instead of asking the SIPDroid team with your question, please give a try to
the
following solution:
- register for a free account at pbxes.org
- add you favorite(s) voip/sip providers in your pbxes.com account - in clusters
- create at least one extension and link it with your clusters (aka voip/sip
provider)
- login sipdroid using your pbxes.com extension
- make calls
I have personnaly tested many providers with many different sip codecs (also
tested
video calls) and SIPDroid works like a charm with pbxes.com.
Original comment by golo...@gmail.com

So,
If you register your SIP provider through pbxes.org you will have sound but all
calls
will be charged (aka FUP)- no free calls AT ALL!
If you register your SIP provider through voxalot.com you will have sound and
FREE
calls - see comment 31 from gustavo.ggutierrez
Thank you gustavo.ggutierrez !

Meanwhile am using Voxalot (thanks for this tip way better than pbxes).
Can the developers please have a look at this problem?
Because i rather connect to my VOIP provider directly.
Furthermore... thanks for this great Android app!
