Hey @mso328

Thanks for testing. Based on this:

0xffffffcb3f7036e0 : 0xffffff801c2e51d4 com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB : _igb_down + 0x1d4 0xffffffcb3f703730 : 0xffffff801c2e7b6a com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB : __Z9igb_closeP20IOEthernetController + 0x2a 0xffffffcb3f703750 : 0xffffff801c2ee069 com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB : __ZN8AppleIGB7disableEP18IONetworkInterface + 0x99

could you please clarify what had been happening before the panic? It seems something was about to shutdown the NIC for some reason.

Separately which driver version did you use? Is the problem repeatable?

mso328 commented 1 year ago

Hello, I was using vnc to connect to another hackintosh that I have on my laptop and from there it restarts. and there are times that I do nothing and it restarts the same way it usually happens almost always.

how do i look at the version?

Hola @mso328

Gracias por probar. En base a esto:

0xffffffcb3f7036e0 : 0xffffff801c2e51d4 com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB : _igb_down + 0x1d4 0xffffffcb3f703730 : 0xffffff801c2e7b6a com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB : __Z9igb_closeP20IOEthernetController + 0x2a 0xffffffcb3f703750 : 0xffffff801c2ee069 com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB : __ZN8AppleIGB7disableEP18IONetworkInterface + 0x99

¿Podría aclarar lo que había estado sucediendo antes del pánico? Parece que algo estaba a punto de cerrar la NIC por alguna razón.

Por separado, ¿qué versión del controlador utilizó? ¿Es el problema repetible?

Hello, I was using vnc to connect to another hackintosh that I have on my laptop and from there it restarts. and there are times that I do nothing and it restarts the same way it usually happens almost always.

You could use sudo kextstat -b com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB which will return something like this

No variant specified, falling back to release
Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) UUID <Linked Against>
   82 0 0 0x59000 0x59000 com.amdosx.driver.AppleIGB (5.11.4) A0C615CF-430D-3110-A039-86CCC428D5CC <50 16 7 6 3 1>

Generally could you please disable all LAN kexts to ensure these restarts are not from the driver or network layer? Since this error presumably shows that the panic happened while trying to shutdown NIC not as the reason of it.
