Apps like Virtual Home Theater can import hrtf files and since some of the listening rooms are virtual, maybe it would be possible to generate sofa or mhr files for them?

I will look into adding an export to SOFA file function to my ASH Toolset app (https://sourceforge.net/projects/ash-toolset/) so that users can generate their own customised BRIR in SOFA format for import into other software.
