Describe the bug / error

We have a multitenant SharePoint Online app that is running on many tenants. However last week we got reporting from some customer that they could not access the App. On all tenants the App is deployed on a SharePoint site. All data are in list on the specific site. We host the service.

We can see the issue is related to a specific SharePoint list in the App. We can access the list settings from the site. However, all columns are gone? when clicking on content type or view it gives an error. trying to create a new column gives the same error. It looks like an access error.

many of our customers have been using the app for many years, with no problem. However last week some tenant had the exact same problem, with the exact same list. Question is what might have happened to the site. We haven't made any updated to the App on the client side. And again, why are some affected and other are not? They are all on the same version of the SharePoint App.

Beside the above problem with a corrupted list, we recently found that Power BI also have issues connecting to the site that have the problem. We have BI reports using Odata connection to the App getting data from several list in the App. Here we are getting a connection error.

These issues might be on our side, or due to a SharePoint update or a SharePoint bug. Problem is that we cannot see it on our side. And again why is it working on some sites and not on others.

Question is if other have experience the same problems lately? or if Microsoft can work with us to solve the problem that is highly critical as it is a business critical application. I did create a support ticket. But unfortunately, they cannot help.

Anyone?

Steps to reproduce

  1. this requires the problem tenants and access to the site where the App is deployed. I will be happy top take a call and show the issue and provide with all documentation.

Expected behavior

Recording shows the problem list that gives the error on a site with the issue. As can bee seen we had to make a new list to get the app to work. However we are concerned about why it happened and what else is wrong. Fx we found the issue with Power BI.
